My Pregnancy Skincare Routine

Friday, January 29, 2021

Pregnancy in the middle of winter is rough. I've updated my skincare routine to pregnancy/breastfeeding safe products, while still being able to tackle dry, itchy skin, acne and wrinkles. On this post I will share (literally) every single product that I use- from hair to face to hands, etc.

I found 15 Minute Beauty from another pregnant blogger, and so glad I did. She has the break down of almost EVERY brand you can think of, with ingredient info for each product. This made it super easy for me to find a brand and or product that I would love and still feel safe using.

For Face:
I wash with Method Body body wash. If you've never washed your face with this stuff before, I highly recommend it. I've never found anything else that takes make up off so well. I get the white one for my face which is supposed to have a little more of a hydrating affect (I think it's called Method Stay Hydrated Body Wash .. or something like that).
After my face is clean, I spritz on a little Thayers face spray, and then I use all of the above Honest Beauty products. This is my first time ever using Honest Beauty and I'm IN LOVE. I've always used their baby products, but have never tried anything from their skincare line for adults before. I figured if their stuff was safe for babies, it'd be safe during pregnancy. Almost every single product of theirs is safe for pregnancy, but I did see a few on 15 Min Beauty's list saying they weren't so be sure to check that out!
All that I purchased from the line is pregnancy and breastfeeding safe:
- Hydrogel Cream
-Deep Hydration Eye Cream
-Deep Hydration Face Cream (My favorite!)
-3-in-1 Detox Mud Mask (I got this to help with breakouts - will report back)
The Deep Hydration face Cream goes on thick, but in a couple hours it's completely absorbed into the skin. I'm starting to get a few wrinkles between my eyes and it has seriously been bugging me-- so much that I've talked about botox once I'm done breastfeeding this babe. After just one use with this cream, those lines have completely disappeared. SHOCKED.

For Everyday Skin:
-CeraVe's Moisturizing lotion (SO good) I've never actually used this brand before. I was so itchy after a shower one night that I started googling body moisturizers- So glad I tried it, because it has helped a ton!
-Gryph & IvyRose Body Oil for Babies & Adults (I use this on both me and Sawyer. It was GREAT during the Summer after the pool/lake/beach).
-Tubby Todd everyday lotion - I keep by the bed and in Sawyer's room.

For Belly/Stretch mark Preventative:
I switch between Burts Bees Mama Bee belly butter and Palmer's Cocoa Butter Oil. I used both of these while pregnant with Sawyer, and didn't get one stretch mark. I am a little worried this go round, just because I never missed a day applying when pregnant with Sawyer, but have seriously been slacking this pregnancy.

For Hands:
-Tula's Hand and Nail therapy for beside my bed
- Mrs. Meyer's Oat Blossom hand lotion for beside the kitchen sink

For Self Tan:
Lux Unfiltered N32 Hydrating Gradual Self Tanning Cream- hands down fav. self tanner and will never use another. I've followed Sivan's Lux Unfiltered journey and I trust the products she uses. She created Lux Unfiltered while pregnant and used it herself while pregnant. I also love that this cream is hydrating + doesn't leave any residue on sheets/towels and doesn't smell bad!

For Hair:
- Raw Sugar Shampoo & Conditioner which is also safe for color treated hair.
-Gryph & IvyRose Detangling Hair Spray for kids (I know it's for kids, but its freakin' awesome. I use on my hair and on Sawyer's).

Lips:
- Daily, I use Palmer's Swivel Stick Lip Moisturizer
- a couple times a week I use the Burt's Bees Natural conditioning Lip Scrub with Exfoliating Honey Crystals and the Burt's Bees Natural Overnight Intensive Lip Treatment
